BPD getting civilian hires in the door to get more cops on the street
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Birmingham Police are getting creative in an effort to get more officers out in your community and enforcing the laws. Right now, BPD still has a $5,000 sign-on bonus with 18 new police recruits set to graduate from the academy next Friday. Still, department leaders have been researching what else they could do to get more officers back on the streets.
