CHANDLER, Ariz. — A lottery ticket purchased in Chandler is now worth over $1.7 million after Sunday's drawing. The lucky Triple Twist ticket was bought at a Circle K store near Gilbert and Pecos roads. The winning numbers for July 14 were 1, 2, 4, 5, 21 and 28.
Two Weeks Left to Adopt for Free at Pinal County Animal Care & Control
Pinal County Animal Care & Control is reminding residents that there are only two weeks left to take advantage of the Bissell Pet Foundation's "Empty the Shelters" national adoption event. From now until July 31st, adoption fees are waived for all adoptable pets, thanks to the generous sponsorship by Bissell Pet Foundation and Cathy Bissell.
Free pet adoptions through July 21 at AAWL
Now through Sunday, July 21, families in the Valley can adopt a furry friend at no cost at the Arizona Animal Welfare League (AAWL). The local rescue will waive adoption fees on all pets over a year old at both its main shelter, located in Phoenix at 25 N. 40th St., and at its Chandler Adoption Center, located inside the Chandler Fashion Center on the second floor, at 3111 W. Chandler Blvd.

HandleBar Diner, the Valentine-style diner located in the Mesa master-planned community of Eastmark, has closed. The diner’s operators took to social media on Friday, sharing that the building's owners had “chosen to close the diner effective immediately” and called the closure “quite a surprise to Chasie and Kevin,” referring to Chasie Womack, who currently runs the diner, and her partner Kevin McMillen.
