JCPS hotline receives more than 1800 calls; Bus drivers practice routes ahead of 2024-25 school year
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — It's full steam ahead on Jefferson County Public School's transportation plan. Since the 485-RIDE hotline opened two weeks earlier than normal, officials said they have received more than 1800 calls. Of those, 1049 were questions or concerns from parents or guardians, and 94% of them were answered.
Mud Hens starter Hurter throws seven strong innings in 7-4 win against Louisville
The Toledo Mud Hens limited the Louisville Bats to four hits in a 7-4 win on Friday at Fifth Third Field. Toledo (46-53) used four pitchers in Thursday’s 4-0 win, a combined three-hitter, and on Friday needed only three pitchers to shut down Louisville (49-49), which scored all its runs in the ninth inning. Starter Brant Hurter (2-4) yielded the first hit, a sixth-inning double by Erik Gonzalez, in seven innings with six strikeouts to no walks. Hurter totaled 77 pitches, with 58 thrown for strikes. Garrett Hill worked 1⅓ innings of relief, giving up the four runs — three on Levi Jordan’s bases-clearing double — on two hits and three walks. Austin Schulfer gave up an RBI single to Tony Kemp, but retired the final two batters via strikeout.
