Former Bulldogs Continuing to Impress in Bigs
We’ve told you about Batesville High product Bryan Hoeing still working his way back toward the big leagues– last weekend he put together a 2-hitter for the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, part of the Marlins’ organization, with a pair of strikeouts as well. It was his second straight relief victory. Some locals tell us they’re hoping Bryan will be available to the big league Marlins when they visit the Reds just before the All-Star break, the 12th thru 14th of this month.

Three Local Student Athletes Make the 2024 Indiana Academic All-State Team
INDIANAPOLIS - Some local names made the list for the 2024 Indiana Academic All-State Team. To qualify you must be a senior, as well as play in 70% of the team games. If a player is the valedictorian or salutatorian of their school, it is an automatic qualification. Students can also qualify with a score of 8 on the academic formula. That is a combination of a student’s GPA and SAT/ACT scores.
Hoeing Continuing To Battle Back

Batesville’s Bryan Hoeing pitched again for the Jumbo Shrimp of Jacksonville, Florida Saturday, and racked up a second consecutive relief victory. He allowed only a single earned run on 2 hits, and Bryan struck out a pair of batters.

Summer can be a real challenge for parents, right? It feels like kids never stop eating! Just yesterday, we were driving back from Florida and decided to treat ourselves with a stop at McDonald's (a rare indulgence at our house). They had this deal—$5 for a meal with a double-patty burger, fries, four chicken nuggets, and a drink. My 11-year-old finished her entire meal. As for me, I only managed to eat half of my burger and a few fries. But wouldn't you know it, about 30 minutes later, she polished off the rest of my meal. And then, less than two hours after she ate, she was already saying she was hungry again!
