BATON ROUGE, La. ( WVLA ) — Authorities in Louisiana are investigating after a baby was found dead in a car on Tuesday.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office said they were called at around 5:45 local time on Tuesday.

When deputies arrived, they found a six-month-old baby dead in the car.

“The parent accidentally forgot to drop the baby off at daycare and went to work and then went to pick the baby up from daycare and realized that the baby was still in the car,” the sheriff’s office said.
