Clean-up moves to Haack’s business
A crew from Junk Masters has started the clean-up process on Maple Lake City Councilor John Haack’s second property, his business on Birch Avenue. Above, they are pictured pulling a full-sized van off the grounds. Maple Lake City Council hired Junk Masters to carry out an abatement order that was first served to councilor Haack in September of 2022.

Man hurt in head-on crash in Otter Tail County
OTTERTAIL, Minn. (KFGO) – A west-central Minnesota man was hurt in a crash on Highway 78 near County Road 1 in Ottertail Thursday morning. The State Patrol says a 16-year-old boy was driving southbound in an SUV and 42-year-old Clint Kysar of Deer Creek was driving north in a car when the two vehicles collided.

Minnesota DNR has added No. 11 to its pool of Scientific & Natural Areas (SNA) in Lake Superior's Minnesota neighborhood, it announced this week. "The new 25 acre Icelandite Coastal Fen Scientific and Natural Area was acquired by the DNR with help from Great Lakes Restoration Initiative and Reinvest in Minnesota. The site is 11 miles northeast of Grand Marais and is one of only two known fens on coastal wetlands on Minnesota's North Shore." This aerial view by T. A Grand Forks Council Member Voices Her Concerns of the Planned Children’s Museum
(KNOX) -Approval on a final plan for the Altru Indoor Sports and Aquatics Complex and Children’s Museum in Grand Forks is about two months away. Grand Forks City Administrator Todd Feland said the proposal will include the Children’s Museum even though there is some opposition by members of city council. “We’ll try to get you something well in advance so you have time to review it. We will ask probably late September, that we move forward with a final design on a facility,’’ Feland recently told the Grand Forks Committee of the Whole.
