22 Jul 2024 Food giveaway planned for Thursday in North Little Rock
NORTH LITTLE ROCK — The New Hope Baptist Church Social Service Ministry will give food away on Thursday, July 25 at 1821 Edmonds St North Little Rock. Under the leadership of Pastor Dr. George Shears III, New Hope Baptist serves the community of North Little Rock with food giveaways on the fourth Thursday of the month. Last year, they served 1,752 families and provided 83,797 pounds of food. Members donated 2,124 volunteer hours.
North Little Rock Taking Flight with Miss Cherrie
Aviation fans will get the chance to experience a piece of history on Saturday, July 27, as Miss Cherrie, a Ryan PT-22 Recruit single-engine monoplane, will be taking adventurous civilians up in the air at the North Little Rock Municipal Airport. The plane, known for its maneuverability and open cockpit design, is maintained by the Razorback Wing of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF).

‘Broken Trail’ Movie Being Filmed in Arkansas
According to several sources, an independent Western film, “Broken Trail,” is being filmed in Van Buren. “Broken Trail” is directed by Johnny Remo and produced by Skipstone Pictures. Reminiscent of the Wild West, the movie is set on the backdrop of the Arkansas River Valley, with freshly laid dirt coating the streets of Van Buren’s downtown.
Volunteers take to the field at 13th annual Watermelon Crawl
Hamburgers and hot dogs are fine, but watermelons may be the iconic food of summer, especially here in Arkansas. They can also be expensive, and a rare summer treat for some. Since 2011, volunteers with the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance have congregated at Stone Links Park in North Little Rock to close the harvest season by picking melons for those facing hunger.

TEXARKANA — Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones arrived at a federal court in Texarkana Monday morning for a paternity case he has been fighting for the last two years. Jones countersued Alexandra Davis for breach of contract after she publicly claimed he was her father. Police identify suspect who caused hours-long Mercy lockdown
FORT SMITH, Ark. — According to Fort Smith police, the intruder who caused an hours-long lockdown at Mercy Hospital on Monday, July 22, is now in custody.
