A mountain lion sighting was reported Monday in Lodi, just two days after one was seen in nearby Acampo, the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies said the big cat had been spotted in an orchard in the area of Peltier Road and asked the community to stay vigilant and keep pets indoors.

On Saturday night, a mountain lion was reported on East Harvest Road in Acampo, an unincorporated community north of Lodi.

Deputies searched the area, but the animal wasn't spotted.

Anyone seeing signs of a mountain lion is asked to contact the sheriff's office at (209) 468-4400, option 1.
