Lakewood Home Completely Destroyed In Massive Two-Alarm Blaze [VIDEOS]
The Lakewood, Toms River and Brick fire departments are at the scene of a blaze inside a home at the Amber Grove apartment complex near Belz in Lakewood. The home’s roof has collapsed (see the first video) as firefighters worked on the home’s first floor. No injuries have been reported as of yet. Police went door to door prior to the collapse, urging neighbors to evacuate their premises.

BRICK TOWNSHIP — The township’s director of recreation was arrested this week and charged with stealing money paid for permits to use recreational facilities, including municipal ballfields. Brick Man Charged With Burglarizing Three Businesses
A Brick Township man has been charged with burglarizing three township businesses, police announced Tuesday. Todd M. Lansing, 46, of Brick, was initially arrested July 2 and charged with two counts of attempted burglary and one count of burglary to three commercial businesses located within Brick Township. He was also charged with three counts of criminal mischief, two counts of possession of burglary tools and one count of theft.
Barnegat Township Man Pleads Guilty to Narcotics Distribution, Burglary and Firearms Charges
Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that on July 15, 2024, Quaison Ellis, 25, of Barnegat Township, pled guilty to Possession of More than One Half Ounce but Less than Five Ounces of Heroin with Intent to Distribute before the Honorable Kenneth T. Palmer, J.S.C., in connection with an incident that occurred in Barnegat on September 10, 2021. Additionally, Ellis pled guilty to Possession of More than One Half Ounce but Less than Five Ounces of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, being a Certain Person Not to Possess a Firearm, and Burglary, all in connection with an incident that also occurred in Barnegat on December 9, 2022. At the time of his sentencing on September 13, 2024, the State will be seeking a term of ten years New Jersey State Prison (NJSP) as to the possession with intent to distribute heroin charge, ten years NJSP relative to the possession with intent to distribute cocaine charge, five years NJSP – with a five year period of parole ineligibility – as to the weapon offense, and three years NJSP with regard to the burglary charge. The sentences are to run concurrently.

Drunken driving checkpoints will take place in Monmouth Beach and Sea Girt this weekend, according to the Monmouth County DWI Task Force. The first one in Monmouth Beach will take place from 10 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday. All southbound vehicles on Ocean Avenue will be diverted into the Monmouth Beach Cultural Center, where all drivers will be screened to ensure they are not intoxicated, said Allenhurst Police Chief Michael Schneider, task force coordinator.
