Burlington County launches new recycling program for plastic drink carriers
Burlington County has partnered with plastic carrier manufacturer PakTech and two local breweries to launch a new recycling program for plastic drink carriers, also known as handles. Starting this month, residents can drop off their used carriers at the Burlington County Resource Recovery Complex in Florence, as well as at Farm Truck Brewing in Medford and Zed’s Beer in Evesham.

TCNJ to provide room and board to local community college students
EWING — Come the fall semester, the housing situation at The College of New Jersey will be different than ever before. TCNJ and Mercer County Community College have worked out a deal where TCNJ will provide room and board to its students, according to a release from MCCC. The partnership “for the Fall 2024 semester and beyond” will also offer MCCC students special rates for the accommodation.
Nature may be to blame for Jersey Shore beach contamination
A Jersey Shore beach may have become contaminated as part of a “naturally occurring” process, a state spokesman told NJ Advance Media in a statement Monday evening. Several signs warn against touching — and accidentally ingesting — pieces of rocks from the bay area in Keyport, where high levels of arsenic were recently confirmed by state regulators.
