Dagsboro salutes Baull for service, commitment to town

DAGSBORO — At events such as the Christmas parade, the Easter egg hunt or National Night Out, Brian Baull was there, serving as a master of ceremonies and a voice for the town.

And, for the 10 years he served on Town Council, he was chosen as mayor for eight of them by his colleagues.

Mr. Baull announced that he would be stepping down from council in March, citing family matters.

On Monday, his service and dedication were recognized, and he received a plaque from Mayor William Chandler III.

“Brian, on behalf of the town, this is a very small token of our appreciation, which doesn’t do justice, in my opinion, for all you have done for the town, all of these many years,” he said.

Mr. Baull has also served on the Prince George’s Cemetery Committee and as president of the Friends of Prince George’s Chapel, a historical Episcopal chapel built in 1755.

At Monday’s presentation, Mr. Baull was accompanied by his wife, Amy Baull.

“I appreciate that, thank you. Thank you to everybody who served on council, as well,” he said.

Mr. Baull also extended gratitude to town administrator Cindi Brought, town clerk/administrative assistant Stacey West, finance clerk Wendy Rayne and Joe Quinn for maintenance.

“They are the ones that show up every day to do this. We are here kind of once a month and every once in a while.

“I also want to say thank you to my wife, who, for 10 years, supported me for doing this.”
