    Dorchester County Hazardous Waste Collection Day set for Aug. 3

    CAMBRIDGE - A day to legally discard household hazardous waste items will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m Saturday, Aug. 3 at the Beulah Landfill, 6815 East New Market Ellwood Road, Hurlock.

    There will be no cost for bringing the materials to the landfill Aug. 3. Proof of Residency is required.

    Visit Dorchester County's website for an informational flyer posted under the Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Division which contains a lengthy list of items that will be accepted.

    Items include: Acids, Antifreeze, Auto & Lead -Acid Batteries, Auto Body Repair Products, Brake Fluid, Chemical Fertilizer, Degreasers, Drain and Septic Tank Cleaner, Fluorescent Light Bulbs, Fuel, Fungicide, Gas Cylinders, Gasoline, Glue, Herbicide, Insecticide, Kerosene, Latex & Water-Based paints, Lead Products, Lithium NiMH & NiCAD Batteries, Mercury Thermometers & Switches, Mothballs, Oil-Based Paints, Pesticide, Pet Collars & Spray, Pool & Photo Chemicals, and Rodenticide.
