DOVER—The Delaware State Fire Commission has announced a groundbreaking for its new building on Sept. 6 at the Delaware Fire Service Center.

“Our long-awaited new building will replace the current one attached to the rear of the state fire school. This state-of-the-art 9500 square-foot building will significantly better serve the needs of our growing agency,” said Executive Director Sherry Lambertson.

The event will begin at 11 a.m. and will be hosted by Retired Fire Marshal Grover P. Ingle. The executive director and the Delaware State Fire Prevention Commissioners will be given a spotlight at the event.

Officials say light refreshments will be provided.
