Bayhealth to present virtual Delaware Mini-Medical School

Bayhealth has partnered with the Delaware Public Health Association’s Delaware Academy of Medicine and the Sussex County Health Coalition to present the Early Fall 2024 Delaware Mini-Medical School series.

This virtual experience is a free, six-week course designed for middle school, high school and undergraduate students who are interested in a health care career path and want to learn more about the various opportunities available.

The virtual session will be hosted in an online classroom setting on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. from Sept. 11 through Oct. 9.

Each session will feature an in-depth lecture with a Bayhealth subject matter expert, followed by time for questions.

The topics include cardiology, health informatics, anesthesia, emergency medicine, radiology, and psychiatry.
Participants who attend all six sessions will receive a signed certificate of completion and the opportunity to join the Delaware Youth Medical Academy.

“As the health care workforce in central and southern Delaware continues to grow and evolve, providing opportunities like the mini medical school is essential to supporting our next generation of team members,” said workforce development specialist Alana King, in a release.

“We are committed to continuously strengthen our local and state partnerships to offer workforce development opportunities to community members.”

This program is also made possible by the Delaware Health Force Initiative and supported by state and local fiscal recovery funds through the Department of Treasury and the state of Delaware.
