A man from Texas was left so badly burned due to the first ever fatal Cybertruck crash that police are currently unable to identify him, with a fire destorying his cars registration plate too.

The man has tragically lost his life after his Tesla Cybertruck veered off the road for 'unknown reasons' and burst into flames . This incident marks the first known fatal accident involving Elon Musk's latest electric pickup, which is yet to undergo independent crash tests.

Despite Tesla's impressive safety record with its vehicle lineup, this incident raises questions about the Cybertruck, which has been promoted as exceptionally durable. The vehicle was reportedly in 'full self-drive mode' when the accident occurred.

Tesla has recently recalled over 1.8 million vehicles due to a bonnet issue that could cause accidents. The Cybertruck has proven to be a popular model in the U. S. , with between 15,000 and 20,000 units on the roads and monthly sales of around 1,754.

This fatal accident, which occurred early on Monday, August 6, around 1:45 a. m.

in Baytown, Texas , is the first recorded for the Cybertruck. According to state troopers, the vehicle veered off Fisher Road near the Grand Parkway and collided with a concrete culvert, causing it to catch fire and sustain extensive damage.

The Cybertruck driver was declared dead at the scene. Due to severe burns and extensive fire damage, authorities have been unable to identify the driver or retrieve crucial details such as the registration plate and VIN.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is still investigating the cause of the crash.

Elon Musk and Tesla have yet to respond to the incident or the ongoing investigation. This unfortunate event has sparked renewed discussions about the safety of autonomous and electric vehicles, with specific worries raised about the Cybertruck's performance in critical situations.
