Teens arrested after Weeki Wachee retail theft investigation
WEEKI WACHEE GARDENS, Fla. — Two teens were arrested two weeks after unidentified suspects broke into the Weeki Wachee Outpost and stole ice cream and cigarillos. The break-in happened on July 14. The suspects were caught on video surveillance wearing hoodies, pants and ski masks with backpacks on, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Tampa proposes permanent once-a-week watering restrictions to conserve water
TAMPA, Florida — City leaders in Tampa are proposing to make emergency once-a-week watering restrictions permanent to conserve the city's water resources. First ordered by the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) in December for Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas counties, the City of Tampa aims to make these restrictions the standard moving forward. Despite some rainfall in July, the region's water resources, including rivers, lakes, and reservoirs, have not fully recovered to normal levels.
10 arrested in Lakeland house party bust, deputies say
LAKELAND, Fla. - Ten people, including eight teenagers, were arrested after a house party was busted in Lakeland this week, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Deputies who were in the Country Club Lane area of Crystal Lake in Lakeland on Tuesday were told by residents that a rental home had become a nuisance house that was often filled with teens "at all hours of the night," the sheriff's office said.

City Council Continues to Deal with Wastewater Issue
Wastewater has become the continuing hot topic brought in front of the Brooksville City Council, and in a July 15 meeting, an emergency ordinance gained approval. The Council also heard the first reading of a permanent ordinance that will impose a limited moratorium on wastewater permits, as the city moves toward a resolution to the developing capacity issue at the William S. Smith Water Reclamation Facility. The capacity limit set forth by the Florida Department of Environment Protection is 1.9 million gallons per day.
