2 children trapped in car fire saved by group of workers in Delaware
WILMINGTON, DE - A Delaware family was saved from a car fire in Wilmington Monday thanks in part to the heroic actions of a group of men working near the scene. On Monday at around 7:30 p.m. the Wilmington Fire Department responded to the intersection of A Street and South Walnut Street for a report of a car fire.
Drug Investigation Leads to Arrest and Seizure in New Castle

The investigation, launched in June 2024, targeted drug distribution in New Castle County and identified Damion Thomas as the suspect through investigative methods.
Delaware State Police investigating fatal 3-car, head-on collision
Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal three-car crash that took place in New Castle County on Monday.It happened at approximately 4 p.m. on the 1100 block of Wilson Road in Brandywine Hundred.Troopers responded to the scene for reports of a three-car, head-on collision.Upon arrival, authorities said two people in two of the vehicles were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.An elderly man in the third vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.Wilson Road has been closed for investigation.State police have not released the victim's identity or what led to the crash.

Firefighter treated for minor injuries after 2-alarm fire at home in New Castle County
A firefighter suffered minor injuries while battling a two-alarm blaze in Wilmington, Delaware, on Tuesday.It happened just after 12:30 p.m. on the 800 block of North Lombard Street.Firefighters were called to the scene for reports of a house fire. Upon arrival, crews saw smoke coming from the roof of a two-story rowhome.The fire spread rapidly, according to police.Additional crews were called in to help fight the flames.After approximately 45 minutes, authorities say the fire was placed under control.The fire caused heavy damage to the roof and second floor of the home, as well as moderate damage to the roof of a next-door residence.As a result of the blaze, one firefighter was transported to Wilmington Hospital with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Pickup Truck Driver Killed In Accident On I-70
Putnam County, In. – One person died and 2 other injured Friday morning in an accident mile marker 35 in Putnam County on Interstate 70. West bound traffic was slowed due to an earlier accident when a pickup truck driven by Norma Rivera, 54, of New Castle, Delaware slammed into the back of a semi driven by Bhagwant Singh, 49, of Indianapolis. Singh was slowed with the hazard lights flashing on his semi when the accident occurred.
