Torrington hosts the 2024 Wyoming American Legion Baseball Class ‘B’ State Championship Tournament from July 25-29. These teams are either the second or third tier in programs around the state. The players are 17 years old and younger. Eight teams are part of a double-elimination bracket. All games are seven innings in length. The tournament games are at Bullock Field located at the Torrington Sports Complex.
Governor Orders Wyoming Flag be Flown at Half Staff to Honor Russell Zimmer
Cheyenne, WY (RELEASE) July 26th, 2024 — Governor Mark Gordon has ordered the Wyoming State Flag be flown at half staff at the Capitol in Cheyenne and in Goshen, Niobrara and Platte Counties from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, July 27 in honor and memory of Russell Zimmer. Mr. Zimmer served in the Wyoming House of Representatives from 1973-1976 and in the Wyoming Senate from 1977-1992, serving as Senate Vice President, Majority Floor Leader, and as Senate President. He passed away July 12, 2024.

Torrential Monsoon Rains, Flooding Possible In SE Wyoming
The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service says torrential rains leading to flooding are possible in southeast Wyoming today and especially on Saturday [July 27]. The agency posted the following on its website: brief return of monsoon moisture is expected on Friday and Saturday. This will bring scattered to numerous storms to the area during the afternoon and evening. Torrential rains could exist in these storms which could lead to possible flooding concerns on both days.
