A Montrose man who allegedly caused a deadly, four-vehicle crash while fleeing authorities in a stolen truck in Becker earlier this month is facing criminal charges.
Bradley Alfred Allen Johnson, 21, is charged in Sherburne County District Court with five felonies and two gross misdemeanors in connection with the July 6 crash that killed 36-year-old Christopher J. Vyskocil, of Becker and injured two others.
"My family is absolutely devastated with this loss. My only ask is that we are given some time and space to determine next steps," she wrote. "Because Chris was the victim of such a horrendous crime, the process for justice is going to be lengthy and tedious. We’re going to need the love and support for the long haul."
Vyskocil's GoFundMe has raised $19,659 of their $30,000 goal, with all the money going towards travel expenses, medical, time off, and "anything that may come up."
According to the criminal complaint, the crash happened after 6 p.m., July 6 in Becker, when deputies attempted to pull over a 2017 Ram truck that had been stolen from St. Cloud .
The truck was driven by Johnson, who at the time had his license revoked.
According to the charges, Johnson entered Highway 10 in Becker and collided with Vyskocil's eastbound Toyota Camry.
A pile-up was caused when the Camry collided with a westbound Kia Niro, while the Ram left the road and struck a Subaru Outback parked outside a local business.
A state trooper assisted EMS with providing aid to Vyskocil, who was unconscious and had severe head trauma. He was then airlifted to a hospital, where he later died.
Johnson allegedly admitted to officers at the scene that he consumed heroin earlier that day, and had drugs and paraphernalia on him.
Johnson's bond has been set at around $400,000 and he is currently being held in the Sherburne County Jail. His next hearing is set for July 17 at 1:30 p.m.
