WV Collective’s Youth Theater Camp presents ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ at the Raleigh Playhouse

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — WV Collective announced that their 2nd Annual Youth Theater Camp production, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid,” will take place on June 21-22, 2024 at 7 p.m. and June 23, 2024 at 2 p.m. at the Raleigh Playhouse in Beckley.

The production, made possible by support from the Beckley Area Foundation and Southern Communications, is the culmination of a two-week intensive camp, where young actors have sharpened their skills in acting, music, choreography, and technical theater.

“Diary of a Wimpy Kid,” based on the book series authored by Jeff Kinney, details the misadventures of Greg Heffley. As he tries to navigate the treacherous waters of middle school, friendship and family, he also struggles to find his place in the world. This take of growing up is one that will charm audiences of all ages.

The WV Collective encourages the community to enjoy the performances that the Raleigh County youth have dedicated their time and creativity to. Ticket prices are $5 for children and $10 for adults.
