One woman dead after being hit by a truck while riding horse in Raleigh County

A woman has died after being hit by a truck while riding a horse in Raleigh County.

According to the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office, on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at approximately 9:55 PM, deputies with the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office responded to Lester Highway near the intersection with Church Street in Glen White on a report of a crash involving a truck and a horse being ridden by an adult female.

Upon arrival, deputies and bystanders began life-saving measures for the female horse rider, unfortunately, she did not survive.

Her identity is being withheld pending notification of family.

At this time, no charges have been filed against the driver of the truck.

The crash is still under active investigation at this time.
