Shaw Industries to lay off 200+ employees in Irmo amid plant transition
IRMO, S.C. — One of the Columbia area's manufacturing facilities has announced it will lay off approximately two-thirds of its workforce in the next 60 days as the company transitions production to another site in South Carolina. The move by Shaw Industries, at 4401 St. Andrews Rd. in Irmo, will affect 203 employees.

CHAPIN, S.C. — A water main break in Chapin has been repaired, hours after residents woke up Thursday morning without a drop to drink. The town told News19 late Thursday afternoon the line had been repaired after hours of work. The 12 inch main line on Bear Creek Road off Amicks Ferry Road broke sometime overnight.
