JULY FOURTH FORECAST: Hotter than a firecracker
Thursday update: We celebrate Independence Day with even more heat and humidity. Heat advisories are in effect for our western counties from 1 to 7 p.m. Heat indices (how it feels when you combine the actual temperature and humidity) will rise to near 109 degrees. With that being said, you want to take precautions to stay safe. Stay hydrated, wear bright-colored clothing, and take breaks indoors. We can’t rule out a stray shower or storm south of I-20, but most of the area will remain dry. Take note that since it has been so dry and hot lately, there is an increased fire danger. So, if you are lighting fireworks, be careful.
