Lees-McRae College celebrates ribbon cutting of North Carolina Building
BANNER ELK — The Historic Commons at Lees-McRae College was rededicated on the morning of Thursday, July 18, following more than two years of renovations and revitalization efforts. Faculty, staff, trustees, alumni and community leaders gathered on the steps of North Carolina Building for the ribbon cutting ceremony and to get some of the first looks at the fully updated facilities. Appalachian State University’s Alumni Association honored three Mountaineers at the 2024 Alumni Awards Gala, held July 13 in the Grandview Ballroom of Kidd Brewer Stadium’s north end zone facility. Ten alumni from the university’s academic colleges, as well as the Honors College, Williams School of Graduate Studies and University Libraries, were also recognized.
