Red Cross Donates Trailer to CSKT
ST. IGNATIUS — Wednesday morning was a great day for the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes (CSKT) community, as Montana Red Cross made an incredibly generous donation to CSKT. They’ve provided a trailer packed full of emergency shelter materials! This means that in times of crisis, the CSKT community will have the necessary supplies to set up safe and secure shelters in quick response.

Mission Mountain Rodeo draws good crowd
Audience members flocked to the Mission Mountain Rodeo on Friday and Saturday nights. Attendance was up, according to Polson Fairgrounds Inc. secretary Una Rose Graham. Ravalli Watercraft Inspection Station Operates to Protect Waters from Invasive Species
RAVALLI — From May 18 through September 18th, the watercraft inspection station at Ravalli is operating 24 hours a day to carefully inspect boats, trailers, and other watercraft for Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS). So far this year, Montana boat check stations intercepted 22 mussel-fouled boats going to various places. Stations are operating with a clear goal to protect the water and praise the effort of teamwork across the state.
Ronan man admits to felony assault
A Ronan admitted to threatening the mother of his children with a knife. Darius Sosep Parker, 25, entered a plea of guilty in District Court in Polson June 26 to felony assault with a weapon.According to court records, on April 19, 2023, a deputy with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office was in the Ronan area when he was flagged down by a woman. She told the deputy that Parker confronted her and was arguing with her before he pulled out a knife and said he was “f***ing serious.”He then put the knife away and struck her on her forehead above her eye. She told the deputy that they were in a three-year relationship, share two children, but are no longer a couple.Judge Molly Owen set a sentencing date of Aug. 14. Parker remains in the Lake County Jail with bond totaling $160,000.
