Gold Tooth Tony’s Expands To A New Neighborhood

Gold Tooth Tony’s , a beloved Detroit-style pizza brand, is expanding its reach with a new location at 5225 Bellaire Blvd, Bellaire, TX 77401 . This marks a significant milestone for Co-Owner and Chef Anthony Calleo , who has been serving up his unique style of pizza to Houstonians for the past five years. Calleo’s passion for Detroit-style pizza began at Rudyards, a local bar he co-owns, and has since grown into a successful standalone venture.

Gold Tooth Tony’s first opened its doors on September 11, 2023, and has quickly gained a loyal following. Known for its thick, crispy crust and generous toppings, Gold Tooth Tony’s offers a distinctive take on pizza that has been warmly embraced by the community. With this new location in Bellaire, the brand aims to fill a void in the local pizza scene, where Detroit-style pizza is practically non-existent.

“We’re excited to be getting involved with the community there. There’s a lot of events in the area, and we want to be a part of that,” said Calleo in a recent phone interview. He also highlighted the improvements planned for the new location, including a better pickup system to enhance customer convenience. In addition to their signature pizzas, this location will be the first to offer salads, catering to lunch needs and broadening their appeal.

Gold Tooth Tony’s has not only introduced Houstonians to a new style of pizza but also started a trend, with other local pizza joints beginning to offer Detroit-style on their menus. Despite the growing competition, Calleo remains proud of his brand’s Houston roots and its role in popularizing this pizza style in the area. “We are the first place to solely focus on Detroit-style pizza in the area while being Houston natives, which I’m very proud of,” he remarked.

If all goes to plan, the Bellaire location of Gold Tooth Tony’s will open its doors in early September 2024, bringing a fresh slice of Detroit to a new neighborhood and continuing its mission of serving high-quality, distinctive pizza to the Houston community.
