ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A grand jury has indicted Jerome Isom for first-degree murder in connection with the death of Yvonne Abernethy. Yvonne Abernethy, 25, was fatally shot outside her apartment at the Reserve at Lake Point, located at 5640 Lynn Lake Dr. S., shortly before 6 a.m. on June 18.

Man arrested for striking Deputy’s vehicle in diesel theft case that ended in Palm Harbor
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man for diesel theft and for striking a deputy’s vehicle as he fled the scene. On July 20, 2024, at 3:43 a.m., deputies observed Kiusler Perez Ortiz, 24, at a closed Mobil gas station on Hillsborough Avenue with his vehicle parked on top of an underground diesel fuel tank’s fill port.
