Disconnected nine years ago, St. Louis seeks proposals for new red-light cameras
(The Center Square) – Approximately nine years after the City of St. Louis discontinued using cameras to catch drivers running red lights, it’s accepting proposals for more advanced technology. UC’s Josh Kross drafted by St. Louis Cardinals in 6th round
The University of Cincinnati's Josh Kross was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the sixth round of the 2024 MLB Draft on Monday. Kross, of Brunswick, Ohio, is the 51st player in program history to be selected in the MLB Draft and the first since Evan Shawver in 2021. He is also the third Bearcat to be drafted in the top ten rounds since 2020, joining Shawver and 2020 fourth round selection Joey Wiemer. The 171st overall pick in the draft, Kross is the third-highest UC draftee in the last 40 years behind Wiemer and 2015 first-round selection Ian Happ.

The Summer Tanager - sometimes all red, sometimes all yellow, and sometimes a mix of the two colors - is the bird species you’ll see in this year’s Greenway Quest, the annual hunt for hand-painted rocks hidden along the 135 miles of greenways in St. Louis, St. Louis County, and St. Charles County.

Firefighters were busy Tuesday as heavy storms rolled through the area causing extensive damage. The National Weather Service placed the area on flood watch at 9:30 a.m. and issued a flash flood warning at 12:30 p.m. The agency also issued a tornado warning around 11:30 a.m., and reported a tornado northwest of Treloar around 11:34 a.m. The Missourian weather gauge recorded 3.65 inches of rain during Tuesday’s downpour.
