Parkersburg man charged with first degree murder
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - A Parkersburg man wanted in connection to a woman’s body found in southern West Virginia was taken into custody on Monday. According to the Parkersburg Police Department, Tony Williamson was taken into custody by the Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force and the Parkersburg Police Department’s Uniform Division on 7th Street before 4 a.m. on July 1. Police Chief Matt Board states he was taken without incident after he briefly tried to flee from authorities.

PA’s “10 Most Wanted” takes his own life in Parkersburg
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - A wanted fugitive from PA took his own life on Wednesday after officers tried to conduct an arrest warrant. On July 3, officers with the Parkersburg Police Department responded to a call about a subject with a warrant in the 1600 block of Dupont Rd. The Parkersburg Police Department had been contacted by a member of the Pennsylvania State Police requesting assistance.
Officials: Stewart to face escape charges when caught
PARKERSBURG — A Raleigh County man wanted for absconding from the Parkersburg Correctional Center will face felony escape charges upon apprehension, officials said Tuesday. Gregory Dale Stewart, 61, was last seen on Sunday at the Cross Church, 1122 Market St., Parkersburg, the Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation said. The time of the escape was 11:55 a.m., according to the wanted poster from the corrections division.
