As always during an election year, the Ripley Fourth of July parade was filled with candidates running for office, including the Democratic and Republican candidates for West Virginia governors.
More thunderstorms expected for the end of the week
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - The 4th of July was a soggy one across the Mid-Ohio Valley. Luckily, the storms held off last night to allow for fireworks to take place. Obviously, it would have been great no to get any rain for a holiday, but we do need it right now after a very dry June. So far, it looks like we are making up for it. Parkersburg was able to pick up around 0.85 inches of rain Thursday and add that to the running July total of 1.14 inches. With another chance for storms today, we will continue to add onto that.
