A 13-year-old Pocatello girl drowned in Bear Lake on Saturday, authorities said. Containment of the Bench Lake Fire improves over Saturday
STANLEY, Idaho — On Saturday, the Bench Lake Fire continued to grow to 2,538 acres. The fire is now 13% contained, and 439 personnel are helping to fight it. According to Great Basin Team Four, strategic foresight and the correct complement of firefighting personnel bolstered containment efforts to 13%. The additional hotshot crews and aviation resources assigned to the Bench Lake Fire were critical in securing firelines.
