Children’s Museum for the Magic Valley holds annual pop-up toy takeover event
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Family and children played at 2nd South Market for the annual Children’s Museum Play Takeover. “The purpose of this event is to bring our community together,” said Bethany Bell, the Children’s Museum of the Magic Valley Development Director. “Really that is all our mobile program is, it’s too bring community together to experience play, to enjoy being together as a family as friends and to be able to experience the many benefits of play.”
Local man run over by his own pickup and trailer during McCammon incident
MCCAMMON — A man was rushed to Portneuf Medical Center on Friday after being run over by his own pickup truck and trailer during an incident in McCammon, authorities said. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on the lawn of a home at 1st West after the man's Ford pickup truck wouldn't start and he was working on the engine but didn't realize he had left the vehicle in gear, the Bannock County Sheriff's Office reported. ...

City of Eagle becomes non-sanctuary city, less services and protections for undocumented people
EAGLE, Idaho — The city of Eagle recently became a non-sanctuary city after a recent city council decision, and that decision has left the city riddled with controversy. "What they're doing is they're sending a message to people who are undocumented here in Idaho, saying they are not welcome in their city limits. and so that has dangerous implications, " Estefania Mondragon, executive director for Poder of Idaho told KTVB Friday.

Containment of the Bench Lake Fire improves over Saturday
STANLEY, Idaho — On Saturday, the Bench Lake Fire continued to grow to 2,538 acres. The fire is now 13% contained, and 439 personnel are helping to fight it. According to Great Basin Team Four, strategic foresight and the correct complement of firefighting personnel bolstered containment efforts to 13%. The additional hotshot crews and aviation resources assigned to the Bench Lake Fire were critical in securing firelines.
Man arrested in Meridian after pursuit, crash
MERIDIAN, Idaho — A man has been arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail for allegedly trying to flee when police found him nodding off in his car, with illegal drugs visible. The Meridian Police Department (MPD), said 25-year-old Timothy Kinchen accelerated to 90 miles an hour during the pursuit, eventually hitting another car.
Global tech outage affects Boise Airport
BOISE, Idaho — The global tech outage Friday morning affected airports, banks, hospitals and even baristas. In Boise, airline passengers are feeling the effects. As of Friday evening on July 19, the Boise airport had 11 cancellations and 25 delays, according to Flight Aware. Nationally, only 23% of flights were departing on time.
U of I Aims to Revolutionize Affordable Housing with 3D-Printed Wood Waste
Affordable housing is not a luxury, it’s a basic need. University of Idaho is developing technology to make housing more affordable nationwide by using Idaho wood waste to make one of the most sustainable building construction materials on the market. They’re combining sawdust and other wood byproducts with bio-based glue to create a medium for 3D-printing buildings and stackable bricks.
Pureflight Aviation to Open Flight School at Pocatello Regional Airport
Thursday, KPVI reported about the Pocatello City Council’s approval of a lease agreement with an Oregon based flight school to open a training center in eastern Idaho. Bannock Development Corporation and the city have spent the last 18 months working to get Pureflight Aviation. LLC to open a flight school at the Pocatello Regional Airport. Pureflight Aviation started in 1983 as Precision Aviation Training and now has locations in Newberg and Klamath Falls, Oregon.

IDAHO FALLS — Shooting paintballs, flying airplanes and more will whirl across the sky Saturday — all in an effort to support local veterans in need. The Desert Eagles Model Airplane Flying Club’s annual community open house runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the club’s flying field near exit 113 southwest of Idaho Falls. Families, adults, and kids can come learn how to fly a remote-controlled airplane under the guidance of an experienced instructor.
