Hart District Appoints Susan Kim New West Ranch Assistant Principal
The William S. Hart Union High School District Governing Board unanimously approved the appointment of Susan Kim as the newest assistant principal at West Ranch High School. Kim completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California at Berkeley in Berkeley, CA. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 2006. In May of 2011, she received her Master’s Degree in Teaching from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA. She began her educational career in Fort Worth ISD and taught in Dallas ISD and Plano ISD. She then served in the role as an LPAC (English Proficiency) Compliance Coordinator for Dallas ISD.
Cow seen roaming streets in Sylmar neighborhood
A cow is safely back with its owner after it was spotted roaming around a Sylmar neighborhood Thursday morning.The cow, which was first reported as a bull, was seen walking through streets in the area around 3 a.m. by residents in the area.As the cow wandered around it was hit by a car, knocking the cow over, but it got up quickly and seemed to be unharmed. The crash broke a headlight of the car, and the driver was not injured.About an hour later, the cow was found and returned to its home on Gladstone Avenue near the Foothill (210) Freeway.KCAL talked to the cow's owner, who was very thankful he is back home." I just wanted to say thank you to everyone, including the media and the police department. I'm just glad the right people were able to get a hold of him," said the owner. "We are lucky."

46 Firefighters Quell East Hollywood House Fire in Under an Hour, No Injuries Reported
Early this morning, a blaze erupted in a one-story single-family home in East Hollywood. The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) dispatched 46 firefighters to the scene at 618 N Juanita Av, where heavy flames were reported to be threatening adjacent buildings. According to LAFD's alert, crews took a defensive stance, fighting the fire from outside to prevent it from spreading. It took them 41 minutes to extinguish the fire. Fortunately, there were no injuries.
