Dallas man caught smuggling immigrants in McLennan County indicted by grand jury
WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A Dallas man arrested in April on charges he was smuggling four immigrants from Mexico to Dallas was indicted Tuesday. Guillermo Ramirez Hernandez, 46, was charged by a McLennan County grand jury with four counts of smuggling of persons. Three of the charges are third-degree felonies, punishable by up to 10 years in prison. A fourth count is a second-degree felony, with a penalty up to 20 years, because it alleges Hernandez was trying to smuggle a person younger than 18.
Indiana residents injured in wreck involving police officer file suit against city of Robinson
WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Two Indiana residents seriously injured in a car crash with a Robinson patrol officer in March are suing the officer and the city of Robinson. Sara Hanshew, of Anderson, Ind., and Phillip Kritsch, of Nineveh, Ind., are seeking more than $250,000 in damages from the city of Robinson and Robinson police officer Scott Dent in the lawsuit, filed in Waco’s 414th State District Court.
