    Upcoming Council Meeting to Address Key Community Projects and Redevelopment Plans

    BELMAR, NJ – The Borough of Belmar Council will convene this Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 6:30 PM at 601 Main Street for an important meeting addressing significant community development initiatives and redevelopment.

    The meeting will commence with a Public Hearing on a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application, offering residents an opportunity to voice their opinions and concerns regarding the grant's potential impact on the community.

    Following the public hearing, the Council will engage in a Workshop Discussion focused on redevelopment strategies.

    The Meeting Agenda will also feature several important resolutions, including:

    - Resolution to approve submission of a grant application and execute a grant contract with the New Jersey Department of Transportation for the South Lake Drive, 6th Avenue, and B Street resurfacing project. This project aims to improve road safety and infrastructure within these critical areas.


    - Resolution authorizing the issuance of a plenary retail consumption liquor license to Two Dawgs, Inc., trading as The Boathouse Bar and Grill , for the period ending June 30, 2025.  In the first days of July, the establishment was unable to serve liquor for several days, and it was reported by TAPinto that the property is subject to foreclosure .

    - Resolution to approve submission of a grant application and execute a grant contract with the Monmouth County Office of Community Development for the Monmouth County Community Development Block Grant Program, furthering local development projects.


    - Resolution authorizing the state contract purchase of municipal management software, hoping to enhance the borough’s administrative efficiency and service delivery.

    The Council is not scheduled to vote on any ordinances during this meeting.

    Community members are encouraged to attend and participate in this crucial meeting to stay informed and involved in Belmar’s ongoing development efforts.
