Purple Tide finish third at Southern Lakes Conference meet
WHITEWATER, Wis.—The Beloit Memorial boys swim team capped off a solid first season in the Southern Lakes Conference with a strong outing and third-place finish in its debut at the SLC Championships on Saturday. The Purple Tide ended with 303 total points to finish behind second-place Elkhorn (310) and champion Badger co-op, which ended with a whopping 548 points. RIPON, Wis. — Beloit College women’s basketball team shot just 21.7 percent from the field and committed 22 turnovers in losing decisively to host Ripon College 88-41 on Wednesday night. The Red Hawks, who lead the Midwest Conference with an 11-0 record (14-6 overall), jumped out to a 27-8 lead in the first quarter. They were ahead 43-17 at halftime.
