    PREP BASEBALL: Beloit Turner shutouts Whitewater 13-0

    BELOIT—Cesar Alfaro and Carston Jacobson combined to allow just one hit while Fernando Tillery and Zack Ries each knocked in three runs as the Beloit Turner baseball team shutout Whitewater 13-0 on Friday.

    The Trojans (9-4, 7-2 RVC Rock) put the Whippets (0-13, 0-8 RVC Valley) in a 9-0 deficit after the first inning and scored four more runs in the second on their way to the five-inning rout in the Rock Valley Conference crossover.

    Tillery and Ries both had two of Beloit’s nine hits with Tillery hitting a two-run single in the first and a one-run single in the second while Ries smacked a three-run double in the first.

    Brody Berg went 2-for-3 with a two-run single in the first and he also stole a pair of bases.

    Alfaro earned the win as he started and went three innings while allowing just one hit with six strikeouts. Jacobson finished the final two frames and didn’t allow a baserunner while striking out three.

    CLINTON 8, MONROE 6: A three-run fifth inning highlighted by a two-run single from Bryce Phillips broke a five-all tie and helped send the Cougars to a Rock Valley crossover victory over the Cheesemakers on Friday.

    Cooper Atkinson added an RBI single in the fifth that was crucial and Tyler Moe kept visiting Monroe (4-11, 3-5) at bay as he allowed just one unearned run on two hits in 3 1-3 innings.

    Phillips finished with two hits and three RBI for Clinton (7-6, 4-5) while Logan Thill added two hits and threw the first 3 2-3 innings as he allowed five earned runs on seven hits and five walks.

    HONONEGAH 18, HARLEM 0: The Indians secured their eighth shutout of the season as they used hot bats and stellar pitching to rout the Huskies in NIC-10 action on Friday.

    Hononegah sweeps the season series with Harlem (11-10, 7-5), which they outscored 34-1, and it has outscored its opponents 71-2 in its past four games.

    The visiting Indians (18-5, 12-0) poured on 11 runs in the third and added four in the fourth in a game that ended after four innings via the mercy rule. Evan Sayles, who had the game’s lone extra-base hit with a double, went 3-for-3 with two runs and three RBI while Logan Edward had two hits and four RBI. Drake Broege went 2-for-3 with three RBI while Nicholas Santis also recorded two hits.

    Ian Blankenship threw the first three innings and allowed just one hit while striking out five before Jakob DeLeo tossed a spotless fourth with two punchouts.

    NORTH BOONE 19, ROCKFORD LUTHERAN 6: The Vikings racked up 18 hits from 11 different players as it rolled over the Crusaders in Big Northern Conference play on Friday.

    Grady Condon and JJ Ford led the effort with three hits as North Boone scored six runs in both the third and fourth before adding four in the fifth to help run-rule Lutheran (7-10-1, 5-9-1) in five innings.

    Chris Doetch had a two-run homer in the second while Matt Espain added a two-run single in the third. Eli Lopez, Doetch and RJ Wolski all had two hits.

    Ford earned the win as he allowed seven hits and six runs (one earned) with seven strikeouts in four innings.

    NORTH BOONE 15, HARVARD 8: The hot-hitting continued for the Vikings on Saturday as Ben Neri smacked three doubles and finished with five RBI in the big non-conference win over the Hornets.

    North Boone (20-8) scored in every inning and set the tone with a five-run first. Gage Vermett had three hits in the leadoff spot while Owen Meredith added two.

    Harvard (5-16) committed nine errors and was outhit 9-5 in the setback, but it scored eight runs (six earned) and drew seven walks off of three different Vikings’ pitchers.

    WATERFORD 13, BELOIT MEMORIAL 3: The Purple Knights had trouble translating its eight hits into runs while the Wolverines had no trouble turning 15 hits into a strong Southern Lakes Conference win on Friday.

    Brenin Pearson hit a one-run single and Ruddy Ramirez added an RBI double as part of a three-run fourth for Beloit (1-9, 1-7), but Waterford (6-8, 2-6) scored five runs in the third and three in both the first and fourth.

    Pearson went 3-for-3 for the Knights while Dustin Foss added two hits. Mike Nora started from the mound and allowed nine runs (eight earned) on eight hits with four strikeouts.

    JEFFERSON 10, BRODHEAD/JUDA 0: The Eagles, who are ranked seventh in Division 2 by Wissports.net, continued their strong season with a shutout over the Cardinals in RVC crossover play on Friday.

    Ryan Searls had two of Brodhead/Juda’s five hits but Payton Heard paced a hot-hitting hosting Jefferson squad with three hits. Drew Peterson went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

    Evan Senobe took the loss for the Cardinals (7-7, 5-4) after allowing five earned runs on 10 hits with seven strikeouts in five innings. The Eagles (14-2, 10-1) poured on five runs in the sixth to end the game early.

    HUSTISFORD/DODGELAND 4, PARKVIEW 3: The Vikings got close to earning its first win of the season, plating two runs in the fifth, but could never close the gap against Hustisford/Dodgeland on Friday.

    Corbin Williams, who finished with three RBI, knocked two runs in with his single in the fifth. But Kaden Filmore settled down to throw a 1-2-3 sixth and Casey Grudzinski kept the Vikings off the board in the seventh.

    Christian Hobon threw six innings for hosting Parkview (0-15, 0-12) and allowed four runs (three earned) on nine hits with six strikeouts.

    HARVARD 7, BIG FOOT 5: The Hornets surged ahead with a five-run sixth inning to take down the Chiefs in non-conference action on Friday.

    Josh Martinez’s RBI single in the fourth put Big Foot up 4-2 before Harvard had five of its nine hits in the big sixth to take the lead.

    Martinez and Carson Buchholz each had two hits for the Chiefs (5-10), who used four different pitchers and had four errors.
