KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Grandview man has been charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon after waving a gun at a fireworks tent in Belton, Mo. the day after the Fourth of July.

One of the victims said a man, 25-year-old Verrell Garrett, had waved his gun at them.

The victim said the suspect then left the tent and later returned, waving his firearm toward them while he was driving.

Several days later, deputies with the Criminal Apprehension Unit identified Garrett as the suspect and arrested him on July 11. The Grandview Police Department also provided assistance in the investigation.

That same day, Garrett was charged with a Class E Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

According to deputies, Garrett is currently being held at the Cass County jail with no bond allowed.
