Man sentenced in unlawful U-Haul use
A Bay City man is serving a stint in the Midland County Jail for not returning a rented U-Haul truck. “It was never my intention to steal a U-Haul truck,” said Jerald Wicks Jr., 53, at his July 11 sentencing in Midland County Circuit Court for unlawful use of a vehicle. He was sentenced to 30 days with 12 days credit for time served and two years’ probation.

West Branch resident Arlyne Kline celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends June 30, 2024. The day was too windy for motorcycling so instead of her customary ride on the back of her son’s motorcycle, she settled for transport by car to Cracker Barrel for a meal out with family. Essexville teacher accused of inappropriate relationship with student will not be charged
ESSEXVILLE, MI — Prosecutors have declined to charge a former Essexville teacher alleged to have had an inappropriate relationship with a student. Essexville officials confirmed July 11 Bay County Prosecutor Nancy E. Borushko had relayed to them her decision not to issue criminal charges. As such, they were able to grant a Freedom of Information Act request seeking reports of police investigation into the matter.
