Bethel Park Alert: Highland Bridge Repairs to Cause Detours Beginning July 22
Beginning Monday, July 22, drivers navigating through the area of Highland Bridge will need to prepare for detours and potential delays, as construction teams move in to repair the vital piece of infrastructure. According to a recent announcement by the City of Bethel Park, available on their website, these repairs are scheduled to take approximately 50 days, temporarily disrupting the flow of Southbound traffic in particular.

Route 837 Closure July 22-24 in Dravosburg
PennDOT District 11 is announcing a portion of Route 837 in Dravosburg Borough, Allegheny County, will close to traffic Monday through Wednesday, July 22-24 weather permitting. A portion of Route 837 between the McKeesport-Duquesne Bridge and McClure Street will close to traffic from 7 a.m. Monday continuously through 5 p.m....

Neighborhoods throughout Pleasant Hills are invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the 30th Annual National Night Out crime and drug prevention event. Residents are invited to join in the celebration with police, fire and medics by turning on their lights, locking their doors and coming outside to spend the evening with family members and neighbors. Residents are encouraged to host block parties, cookouts and youth activities. This is a great time for all age groups to get to know each other and build relationships. Emergency equipment from numerous public safety organizations will form a procession and travel throughout the borough, visiting neighborhoods. Groups or organizations from the area that wish to participate in the procession with their motorized units are invited to join public safety personnel in making this year’s event even bigger than those held in the past.
Route 88 Library Road Slide Repair Begins Monday in Castle Shannon
PennDOT District 11 is announcing slide repair work on Route 88 (Library Road) in Castle Shannon Borough, Allegheny County will begin Monday, July 22 weather permitting. Slide repair and shoulder reconstruction work will occur on Library Road between Havelock Street and Killarney Drive through early August. To allow the work to occur, the southbound lane on Library Road will close to traffic at Killarney Drive. Southbound traffic will be shifted into the center turning lane. A single-lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction during this work.

The pickleball blitz has made its way to Scott. The township installed four pickleball courts at Scott Park, 2 Park Drive, in June. “Residents were making requests for additional pickleball courts since last year,” said Township Manager Denise Fitzgerald. The work was completed by Mele & Mele & Sons.
