SOUTH BEND — Downtown South Bend Inc. will offer free yoga, Zumba and more every Saturday through Aug. 31. The program is held at the Gridiron, 122 S. Michigan St. The drop-in classes are free and open to all ages and skill levels. This year, participants are asked to bring a small donation for the Food Bank of Northern Indiana each week or when able. Participants should dress in appropriate clothing and footwear, bring a mat and adequate fluids, and will be required to sign a waiver for the season. Free parking is available on the street and in the Leighton Parking Garage; enter off Jefferson Boulevard. This Saturday’s class includes 8 a.m. Yoga; 9 a.m. Zumba; 10 a.m. Boot Camp. Wet start to Wednesday marks a rainy pattern to end week
A line of showers will move through Michiana this morning, breaking up the mugginess as you head out the door. The rain tapers off by this afternoon with highs reaching into the mid 80s alongside partly cloudy skies overhead. A rogue shower or storm may be present tonight, but almost all of our area can expect mostly cloudy conditions and lows in the upper 60s. The lull in wet weather ends Thursday midday as isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon and evening. Not everyone will see rain Thursday, especially at night, but any outdoor plans for fireworks could be supplemented with an umbrella or rain jacket. Showers and a storm or two last into Friday morning before moving out of our area, leaving behind highs in the low 80s and overcast skies heading into the weekend.
