BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The Northwest Arkansas community is starting its newest chapter of the League of Women Voters.

The new League of Women voters on July 25 in Benton County kicked things off with an interest meeting in Bentonville.

The league says with Benton County growing, it’s needed, especially after hearing questions from residents ranging from where to register to vote and where to find more information about candidates.

“It’s really important to be involved with your local politics and this is a great vehicle to do that because we are non-partisan,” said Bonnie Miller, president of the League of Women Voters of Arkansas. “We only focus on issues, we don’t support candidates or parties. So this is a really great vehicle to be involved.”

The league says the next steps for the chapter involve seating a leadership board and getting all the required paperwork submitted to the state.
