I am writing to publicly thank the Long Beach Township police and the volunteer emergency responders for saving the life of my husband. On Saturday, July 20 they arrived almost immediately after I made my early morning 911 call. Not only did they know what to do but they did it with skill, efficiency and calm from years of experience. It literally saved his life.

Kickball Event Raising Funds for ALO
Alliance for a Living Ocean will be the beneficiary of a “Summer Slam” kickball game on Saturday, Aug. 3 at 6 p.m. at Sunset Park in Harvey Cedars. First held last year, the fundraiser was started by Hannah Doscher and Quinn Daly, longtime friends from North Jersey who have summer homes in Harvey Cedars.

Jackson man fatally stabbed, roommate charged with murder
JACKSON — A 38-year-old township man was charged Friday with stabbing his 74-year-old roommate to death, said Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. Louis Gargiso was charged with murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon in the death of Robert Sunris, according to the Prosecutor’s Office.
