A Seaside Park man has been charged in connection with a motor vehicle accident that resulted in the death of a Toms River man on Sunday. Prosecutors, in a statement released Monday, said John Marrone, 68, of Seaside Park, has been charged with causing death or injury while driving with a suspended or revoked driver’s license, and knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in death.

I am writing to publicly thank the Long Beach Township police and the volunteer emergency responders for saving the life of my husband. On Saturday, July 20 they arrived almost immediately after I made my early morning 911 call. Not only did they know what to do but they did it with skill, efficiency and calm from years of experience. It literally saved his life.

While we are not residents of LBI we proudly display a sticker on our cars as a reminder of our favorite vacation site for over 20 years. My wife and I started coming to LBI from our hometown of Vineland. We now live near Washington, D.C. and rent a house on LBI for my children and our grandchildren, all 10 of us.
