Somerset’s Newly-Renovated Pool
The Town of Somerset residents have been celebrating the reopening of their beloved community pool following an extensive renovation that completed just in time for the 2024 summer season. Chair of the Somerset Pool Committee, Matthew Zaft, spoke with MMC-TV about the renovation, while the Somerset Dolphins swim team hosted their MCSL Divisionals meet. CURVE PITCH WELL BUT LOSE ALL THREE GAMES OF WEEKEND SET IN JERSEY
It was a lost weekend for the Altoona Curve, which lost all three games to Somerset despite three strong pitching performances. The Curve lost 2-0 on Friday, 2-1 on Saturday in a game in which Thoams Harrington struck out ten, and 3-2 yesterday. Hunter Barco made his Double-A debut and threw three scoreless one-hit innings, striking out five. Bubba Chandler returned from the inactive list and took the loss, giving up all three runs on four hits with three walks and three strikeouts in five innings.
Patriots Notebook 7/23/24: Rivalry Series Week
Bridgewater, New Jersey – The Patriots proved to have no trouble with the Curve after completing a three-game sweep of Altoona coming out of the all-star break this past weekend. Somerset pitchers allowed just three runs during the series which helped propel the club back into first place in the Northeast division with a 14-7 second half mark, which leads second place Binghamton by 1.5 games heading into action this week. The Patriots concluded their regular season matchups with the Pittsburgh affiliate by finishing 7-2 against them.
