This New Hampshire City Will Send You a ‘Judgy’ Letter if Your Grass is Overgrown
If you let the grass get too overgrown on your lawn, the city will intervene, depending on where you live. Were you aware this is a thing? I always thought that once you buy a piece of land, it's yours, and you can choose to maintain (or not maintain) your property however you see fit.

Multi-family housing proposed on Silver Street in Dover, at site of 1760 home

A proposal heading before Dover’s Technical Review Committee later in July seeks a conditional use permit in order to rework the 1,648-square-foot-footprint single-family residence into a four-unit multi-family building. A permit is required because the home and the single-story barn on the property are...
Include old NH State House in design of Portsmouth's Market Square: Letters
Include old State House in design of Market Square. It is great to read to what degree Portsmouth’s patriotic citizens are concerned about preserving our community’s rich history. Which is why any redesign of Market Square should include a pedestrian space and a monument on the footprint of the original New Hampshire State House.

Hunger for liberty: Kittery marks independence with readings by a general and a slave
For just about an hour on Saturday morning, two of the Seacoast’s most iconic historical figures were brought back to life in Kittery, Maine. Gen. William Whipple, who was born and raised in Kittery, has the distinction of being the only native Mainer to sign the Declaration of Independence in 1776. In what has become an annual tradition, the General – portrayed this year by historical reenactor James Roberts of York, Maine − returned to his hometown to kick off the area’s Independence Day celebrations with an inspired public reading of the Declaration.
