CSP responds to reported street takeover in Bethany

BETHANY, Conn. (WTNH) — Connecticut State Police are investigating after a street takeover event was reported on Saturday.

Troopers were dispatched to the area of Beacon Road around 7:18 p.m. for report of the possible street takeover event. However, the two troopers dispatched to the area were either cleared shortly after arriving or prior to their arrival.

“This appears to indicate that the response of the second Trooper was determined to be unnecessary as the circumstances surrounding the call were not as initially reported, or that the accused vehicles were no longer in the area described upon police arrival,” state police said Monday.
