Rocky Mount Animal Services waiving adoption fees until next Monday
ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WNCN) — The Rocky Mount Animal Services Unit is waiving adoption fees until next Monday, July 22. Those interested in adopting a pet may visit the shelter at 1017 N. Church St. in Rocky Mount. The shelter is open Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sheriff's office warns of phone scam targeting Cumberland County residents
The Sheriff's Office is warning the public of a phone scam targeting Cumberland County residents. The sheriff's office said citizens are receiving phone calls from callers impersonating law enforcement officers claiming to be Sergeant Hamlett. The caller says they have legal papers and must call back immediately. When calling the number back the impersonator has the voicemail set up to reflect the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. The number calling citizens is 910-479-5277.
