Man shot in Bethlehem early Thursday morning

A man was shot early Thursday morning on Bethlehem’s West Side, according to authorities.

City police Capt. Nicholas Lechman said officers were called about 4:30 a.m. to the 1900 block of Gatewood Lane for a report of a shooting. When police got there, they found evidence of recent gunfire in front of a home.

Shortly after, police were notified that a man arrived at a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound to his body. Lechman said preliminary investigation indicates the man was injured in the shooting on Gatewood Lane.

He described the man’s injuries as not life-threatening.
