One of the most iconic experiences launched by The Peninsula Hotel Group is Afternoon Tea. I had the chance to take it in myself while visiting the flagship Hong Kong location , both on the Star Ferry and in the hotel lobby itself. Start with a glass of Champagne, munch on tea sandwiches, sip on an assortment of tea and other beverages, and understand the truth in afternoon tea delight.
Starting tomorrow, May 18th The Peninsula Beverly Hills re-launches its Tea Party in collaboration with Ginza Nishikawa , Japan’s Artisanal Shokupan producer , to introduce their world-renowned milk bread alongside the re-introduction of the Hotel’s iconic weekly Tea Party service on The Belvedere Terrace. Made with premium ingredients such as fresh cream, butter, honey and curated yeast strains, Shokupan’s freshly baked loaves offer a golden-crusted, silky texture with a hint of sweetness, infusing this Japanese luxury into The Peninsula Beverly Hills’ elegant and festive atmosphere through its menu of curated tea sandwiches.

The al fresco Tea Party experience is set on The Belvedere Terrace, complete with hand-crafted iced teas served in eclectic glassware and china, Japanese-inspired cocktails, and afternoon DJ sets. From art, music, fashion and culinary collaborations, Tea Party promises to be as stylishly memorable as its guests. Offered Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 2pm, Tea Party will be running from May 18th until July 21st for $125/person.
The Peninsula Beverly Hills Wine Director, Max Goldberg, has selected a collection of champagne & wine for guests to choose from and enjoy during Tea Party:
